Duran Du-Fucking-Ran

Madison Square Garden. Last Night. Me. And John. And Simon. And Nick. And Roger. And Andy. 21 years later. Together at last.

From the opening number (Reach Up for) The Sunrise to Simon's howling question, "New York Citeeeeeee!!!!! Is anybody hungreeeeeeee?????!!!!" that launched Hungry Like the Wolf and 10,000 simultaneous orgasms, Duran Duran delivered a 2 hour and five minute powerhouse of a show that fulfilled a 21 year-old dream of mine, put into place when I was only 12 years old, to see the Fab Five live on stage and all that that implies. And what a stage it was.

East Village Radio-What the Bleep?

It took me this long to find out, but I finally did. In my never ending trip down the rabbit hole of internet broadcasting, I have found a great station right in my own backyard. East Village Radio seems to be the usual collection of hipster anger rock, with a few nostalgia shows thrown in for good measure, but I also heard a great interview with a sex worker who authored a new book. Check it out.

Totally unrelated: see this movie. What the Bleep Do We Know? Quantum Physics meets spirituality. It's fascinating despite the Marlee Matlin After-School-Special dramatization. Well worth checking out.

Call Timothy "Speed" Levitch

  • This used to list Speed Levitch's phone number, but it doesn't work anymore. Now all I have for you is an old quote from his answering machine, which is pure poetry.
"I am lack of coordination being utilized. I am dysfunction gazing into the eyes of function. I am quieted, odd, menaced awkwardness dying at the altar of suave. They call me Levitch. Leave me a message."
  • Who?
